hello there.

HOLIDAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!~~~~~~~~~~~

Basking in the post-exam happy bubble :D

Not that i think i did very well. but hahaha... i don't care right now.

tea... ho ho ho...
Been going out a fair bit, so lots of photos... naha...

It was my grandma's eightieth birthday on the weekend before my last exam :D

So my aunts came down from Vancouver for the two weeks during my exam period. It was pretty cool, there was so much going out to eat food or eating crazy amounts of awesome food at home because they didn't want to go out.

And I missed out on 3 more outings haha. Cause i had to study T.T

Thursday. Last exam day.

SO HAPPY TO HAVE FINISHED.

Went out to get ramen for dinner in the city at Ippudo with ML and NJ. I think she had just come back from Melbourne! :D

The ramen was super tasty! I really like ramen haha... I think this was like, specialty ramen. It took ramen to the NEXT LEVEL. RAMEN UPGRADED.

The wierd rice thing came with extra nori and ginger to be put in like halfway to "change the flavour of the meal and make it a more refreshing experience." the rice was to be put in after the noodles were finished.

I asked ML what he thought and he was like "it just tastes like more ginger now." haha what a cutie.

Saw KL in the city when coming back. He was very drunk. First time talking to a drunk person.
I think it was a rather... enlightening experience.

Friday

Did some last minute pack up for my prep to move out. Then watched a couple of episodes of High School of the Dead before I got side tracked.

I think it was actually pretty scary sometimes. Other than that, boob physics of the show is kinda ridiculous. :D

Day didn't exactly go as hoped the day before, but it still went a little along the way?

I guess I can't help myself sometimes.

Towards the end, when i got kinda sleepy and cold and just crawled in bed; i think that was the nicest bit :3

---

Saturday

After work met up with the girls for dinner and dessert at towers! So happy to see everyone again :'D Got all emotional and everything nahaha.

When I came back home, watched a late night movie with my mum and sister called Blindness (imdb link here)

I think it really made me question what would I do if I was in that situation. I kinda wish i had seen it in year 11 and used it for a related text of something, I dunno what. Maybe human condition. I dunno.

It's really dark though. Super dark. But it has a lighter finish.

I really want to read the book now.

If I was stuck with no sight in the soceity/kingdom of the blind, would i become like the crazy guys? With no morals and live for selfish pleasure at the expense of others? Would I try to oppose injustice, or would I buckle under and ensure I don't create opposition?

I dunno. It's hard to think.

Sunday & Today

I really feel its the beginning of the hols. Lazy days that stretch out into nothing. I kinda did laundry today, and going through a wardrobe cleanse. i.e throwing out garbage bags full of clothes in the donation bins :D

Its taking a while to decide what I want to keep and what I want to get rid of.

Just finished reading Jodi Picoult's My Sister's Keeper and Sam Hawksmoor's The Repossession.

My sister's keeper made me cry when i was reading it, and cry again when i was explaining it to my sister...

lol.

But yeah holiday party atmosphere :D

PARTY LIKE THE DOCTOR!!!!!!!

Coolest snap chat drawing ever.

Also I'm totally in love with minions. Minions are 2nd on the list of things i want but can't have. Luckily McDonalds decided I could have a toy one.

It was really weird buying this, cause i kid you not, when the guy came out and realised this tall fat asian girl wanted the happy meal, he kinda just looked bemused and told me to enjoy the toy. :p

I want ALL THE MINION TOYS.

K bai :D

KYCK day 2

Today was pretty fun.

Writing warm and fuzzies, playing youth games, singing songs and watching dr who during breaks :)

Guardian Angel was terrible... My original plan of leaving prepared cup noodles, knocking on door and running went perfectly, but my second plan of action stuffed up and the person found out who I was :(

I think I'm the only one who's been caught so far haha..

But I wanted to show love so I worked hard. No regrets.

---

I was really convicted by the talk tonight, about loving everyone like Christ loved us

"For God showed us how much he lived us in this: that whilst we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

We are called to love like Jesus loved us, to love others with our life on the line.

To love purely, and to love completely.

And not to love just when it is convenient, or when we have the time and resources to love others, but whenever the situation arises.

For if we follow the God of Love, we must love as he loved us.

I find it very difficult to love people wholly, with an open mind. To great them with respect ad love and concern. Too encourage them and to share the gospel with them, for that is he greatest love we can do.

Because I hate people. I have like no faith in humanity, because I believe that we're corrupt and sinful. And I find it amazing that a God so perfect could love something as dirty and immoral and sinful me, let alone suffer pain and separation and death for my sake. It's a crazy love that I find hard to apply to my own heart.

But I suppose I must try. For only God can watch over me :)

Geekdom and overseas!

So my family went to watch the hobbit! If anyone knows me like about 3% well, they will know I'm a (lil bit) of a major geek.

I actually quite liked what they did! I mean, when i found out it was a 3 part movie, i was quite amazed, because having read the hobbit about a thousand times (not even kidding i can quote it) i know exactly how long it is. And I knew that it wouldn't be long enough for 3 parts.

(Although i did guess where they would end the first movie... eh he he.)

But they added stuff that i didn't expect! (well i sort of guessed they would add the necromancer bit, but putting radagast and stuff in was a surprise)

Anyway, as soon as the movie ended, my parents looked at me and asked "how close to the book? Which bits added? TELL MEEEEEEEE"

lol

I've got geek cred in my family.

anyway, speaking of geek cred, i saw this article on the internet, which talks about women who are geeks.

In some ways, i kinda agree with him? In others, i find him a bit pretentious. I'm not sure.

I think that yes, i do get slightly irritated when i find attention grabbing girls dressing up and pretending to be hard core geeks online. However, on the other hand, I also feel like this is just a little bit of a sexist statement? Not all girls who choose to cosplay and want to get their geek on at conventions are attention grabbers. Perhaps the word im looking for is generalisation.

(Although i do understand the 6to9 thing.)

Maybe it's because most of the people i hang out with are geeky. Who knows.

Also, i felt a twinge of sadness when he sad "girls turning up at conventions claiming they like 'doctor who.'

Is doctor who a mainstream, non-geeky show? Does that mean I'm not a geek? Surely not.

I mean, it is a more popular show, ever since David Tennant was the Doctor. (Which i find said, because personally i feel that eccly and smithy also brought heaps to the role D:) And yeah, i can't deny that i'm a bit fangirly for Matt Smith sometimes (I love his doctor! but even then, he's still not MY doctor. He just reminds me of the 4th, which i still think is my doctor. Everyone has a doctor. this might also be because i love sarah jane. haha)

Christmas, Les Mis, and Wreck it Ralph

Well, Christmas time is always hectic in my family. I had an awesome Christmas, and I hope you did too!

My family went to watch les mis, and no joke i cried the entire movie. haha. it's really really good guys. Though i might not be willing to watch it with you since i will cry the entire time and look kind puffy eyed and blind and blotchy when we get out. (Which is apparently what happenned when we left :P)

Also watched Wreck it Ralph with my younger cousins. The film was cute! I loved it! It kinda appealed to my geeky side as well as my disney childhood obessessive side and also my emotional side (I kinda tear jerked a bit... BUT then again I always cry in movies haha)

Also i saw this on the internet. Freaky.

Chatbot talks to Chatbot.

The last question totally freaked me out.

Also.

DOCTOR WHO CHRISTMAS SPECIAL RTJQA83U96GQKU18325F67!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CLARA OSWIN OMFG SHE COULD BE MY FAVOURITE COMPANION NOW. I was a  Sarah Jane enthusiast but boooooooooooooooooooooy if her story turns out good i might really really like her. I love her personality already. :D

Almost Christmas!

It's almost Christmas :D :D :D

And the only reason i know is because of the ever increasing hours of orchestra practice we have until the actual Christmas Eve concert, haha.

To bribe us, the conductor, (We call her Aunty, like real asians lol) give us monogrammed cookies and also cookies with faces. She's a professional baker as well as music teacher! So she's really good at both cookies and yelling at us when we're off a semitone. lol.

TBH, sometimes, i get SO sleepy during rehersals, that I fall asleep at the piano, and I wake up finding myself playing the final chord. And AuntyS is all "you played very well" and I don't really know how I finished the piece... lol

Tomorrow it's Christmas eve! Or I think it's today by the time I post this haha. Do you guys have any plans? I can't wait for Christmas, with our present openings and Christmas foods. :D :D :D I'M SO EXCITED!

Do you have any family traditions at Christmas? In my family, everyone wakes up early to open presents, and then we go to a church service, and then I help my mum make food for Christmas lunch, which is taken at my YehYeh's place (So my Dad's parents lol) and my grandma makes like a bajillion dishes, no joke. Then we head to my PorPor's (mum's mum) and we eat MORE food (and prep more food), all the while picking up and giving out presents.

It's a very fattening and fulfilling day.

Tomorrow i'm going to go baby sit before going to the concert, (as in orchestra, not some crazy fun event lol) and i'm doing christmas crafts and baking cookies with the kids! It's going to be hella fun haha. I hope. lol.

If you're interested, i'm making this recipe.

Basic Shortbread (about 14-16 cookies [big ones])

Ingredients
  • 2 cups plain flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 225g unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup icing sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • decorations optional

Directions
  1. Line 2 rimmed baking sheets with parchment. Wisk together flour and salt. In the bowl of a mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat butter until fluffy, 3 to 5 minutes. Add sugar, and continue to beat until pale and fluffy, occasionally scraping down the sides of bowl, about 2 minutes more. Beat in vanilla. Add flour mixture, and mix on low speed, scraping sides if necessary, until flour is just incorporated and dough sticks together when squeezed with fingers.
  1. Turn out dough, forming into 2 disks; wrap each in plastic. Refrigerate until firm, at least 1 hour.
  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Roll out 1 disk to a 1/2centimetre thickness. Cut out shapes using cookie cutter, and transfer to prepared baking sheets. Reroll scraps. Repeat with remaining disk. Indent cookies with desired stamps. Refrigerate until firm, at least 30 minutes. Bake until firm and golden, 13 to 15 minutes. Let cool completely on a wire rack.

yum yum yum cookies

Bye guys!

Christmas is coming!

At work, my boss keeps saying how much she is looking forward to christmas haha :) She paid me in advance, so I went on a huge shopping spree and bought pretty much all my Christmas presents for this year! I spent SO MUCH MONEY!!!! (inward sob) Like two weeks worth of pay. (cries openly) I hope everyone likes their presents! haha

Wrapping is always my favourite part, because... i dunno. I like wrapping.

I was looking for cool printable tags to put on with the cards, and I made some of my own, but here's an awesome link to print lots of cool tags if you're thinking of wrapping presents too!

Yesterday was really fun at the connect, we played Jungle speed! Which reminds me that the jungle speed i ordered online still hasn't arrived yet. I'm not sure if it'll be here before Christmas :(

Are you guys nervous about ATAR? I'm somewhat concerned.

Also, I've been going around humming Christmas carols under my breath. lolol

*I SHOULD BE PLAYING IN THE WINTER'S SNOW, BUT IMMA BE UNDER THE MISTLE TOE WITH YOOOOOOOOOOU, SHAWTY WIT YOU, WITH YOUUUUUUUUUUUUU, SHAWTY WITH YOU, WITH YOOOOOOOOOOOOU, UNDER THE MI-STLE TOOOOOOOOE*

I'm losing it.
